Using Social Media to Grow a Network Marketing Team!

Quite often I’m asked “what do I need to do if I want to use social media to recruit people to my team?” In many cases, people are seeking the “words” to use…

…when a high majority of the time, the “words” are not as important as the attitude or “mood” surrounding it.

You Can’t Push a String

A string can’t be pushed… it needs to be pulled. So will your prospects need to “be pulled”. For starters, nobody likes to be “sold”, we like to buy.

So let them BUY! We get excited when we make the decision to join something… to start a cause… to take a step in a new direction. Shouldn’t this be the mood around someone considering getting started with you?

People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care… so SHOW them you care! Listen to them, converse with them, share your experiences and knowledge with them.

Slow Down, Let It Happen Naturally!

Here are some tips…

-Ask questions. Let them talk more than you do.

-Don’t try too hard. Just go through the steps your NWM company provides you.

-The less you push the more success you’ll have.

-People sense when you’re desperate. Don’t be.

-Take it slow.

-When first talking to people I say “hi”, and if they started the chat, I don’t even message them a 2nd time for at least a week.

-If you contacted them, after they answer, say “let’s keep in touch” and don’t message them again (unless they contact you first) for at least 2-3 days.

-Some people I talk to for literally a couple of months before I even ask what they do or mention my opportunity, or what I “do”. (unless they ask)

It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

-It works better if you can get people to ask “what do you do?” than by telling them, (you never want ppl to think the reason you contacted them was to sell something)

-Say things when making small-talk like “I’ve been pretty busy because I just started working on a new project” and hope they ask “what new project?” or don’t answer for a day or two and say “gosh, I’m so sorry I took so long to reply, I’ve been really busy answering questions about [your program niche]”.

Remember, this is NOT TO replace talking to people face-to-face, just another option.

Be patient… talk to people. The selling will happen…
